Dearest Baby Mei-Mei,

We had another check up on your progress at the hospital today. All of us went down together as usual.

We had to wait quite some time before it was Mama’s turn to see the doctor as there were lots and lots of people waiting.

It was time to do a ‘measurement’ scan of you. :p This is where the doctor had to measure the circumferences of your head, abdomen and also the length of your femur (part of your leg).

After the scan, the doctor found that the circumference of your abdomen was very large and it put you in the 95th percentile! She was afraid that you were too fat and that Mama is diabetic. There’s a name for this diabetes but Papa can’t remember what it is. It affects pregnant Mamas sometimes.

The doctor then wanted to do a follow-up check so Mama has to come back to do it in a few weeks time.

Another thing that made us worry was that your femur seemed very short. The doctor didn’t react to it but Mama was very very worried about why your leg was so short in relation to the rest of you. Sigh… You’re really scaring us. We pray that you’ll turn out okay.
