Dearest Mei-mei,
We'd rescheduled your doctor's appointment to today instead of the following Monday as Mama had been having discharges the whole week since Saturday. It was necessary for us to get a proper check done for your good.
When we got there, Mama went up to see the doctor first as the car park was quite crowded. The clinic was quite empty and the doctor seemed to be keeping to her schedule of appointments so you got to see her right on time! This was the first time ever! :D
The doctor initially thought that there was no problem; that your waterbag had not broken yet. But after she'd carried out the usual ultrasound scan, she realised that there had to be a leak as the waterbag had lost lots of water. She then checked again and decided that there had to be a leak.
The doctor thus told Mama that you had to be admitted immediately. The doctor then had to dash off to perform a surgery and happened to bump into Papa and Che-che at the entrance and told Papa about it.
We then waited for a while while they prepared for your admittance. When Mama was brought to the delivery suite, Papa and Che-che headed home.
Mama had to wait for a couple of hours before the doctor came to see you. By that time, the nurses had already set up monitors for your heartbeat and Mama's contractions. The doctor gave Mama something to accelerate the labour process before leaving. She'd expected you to only be ready to come out at about 6 am tomorrow.
Mama then settled down to wait.
Papa came back to keep Mama company about an hour after that. The nurses kept on coming in to track your progress. Ironically, they also kept on telling us to sleep while we could - when they kept on coming in and made noise and switched on the lights. :p Oh well!
Just before midnight, the doctor came to check on how you were. Mama had already progressed along very well. Mama was given an epidural so that she could endure the pain of the contractions. We were then told to wait for you to be ready. Again we thought that you would only come in the morning.
We're going to see you soon, Lil' One!
Papa and Mama love you!
